HERE AT ISK IT IS OUR PRIORITY TO PROTECT THE PLANET

Click Here to access the Rules for state beach- Please follow them!

the kids are going Green

Conservation is the theme of our 2019 Kids Adventure Weeks! Our focus is on teaching our little paddlers to become advocates for the planet!

Kids will learn to protect the sand, shells, and grass. They will also learn to interact safely and respectfully with the wildlife in each environment.

Green Events

The Oar and Paddle Regatta is our annual race for cleaner waters in partnership with Friends Of Sengekontacket. Click here to learn more and register to help us keep the planet clean!!

Beach Grass Planting is one of many events we host in collaboration with Dukes County and Friends of Sengekontacket to make a positive impact on the planet. We encourage everyone to join us, check in on Facebook to see how you can help!

The Earth Day Beach Clean Up is our annual event to protect wildlife, beautify the Island, celebrate Earth Day, and kick-off spring. This is a family event happening at most beaches on the island!

Environmental impact

As one of the islands largest outdoor adventure companies, we know how important it is to protect the local environments that we visit every day. We take pride in making sure the people who paddle with us learn how to leave each environment they visit in better shape then when they found it.

We're going Paperless

Here at Island Spirit, we are officially going paperless for the planet! Our new digital smart waiver will be incorporated into daily use, and eliminate 1000's of paper waivers that were previously being used each year.

Nipsy the Great White

In 2019 we took on an exciting new project! We used beach garbage found on State Beach to construct a 20ft great white shark. Nipsy will be in the 4th of July parade, and other events to encourage elimination of single use plastics and garbage on the beach and help protect the environment!

Many Of Our environmental efforts are in partnership with Friends Of Sengekontacket! We work together to help keep State Beach clean and healthy!
