Oar And Paddle REGatta

30th Annual

About the race:

Every year ISK helps to host the Martha's Vineyard Oar and Paddle Regatta from our beach location in Sengekontacket pond. Swimmers and paddlers of all kind come together to race 2.4 miles and raise money for cleaner waters!  The proceeds from the race go to Friends of Sengekontacket, who works to keep the water that we race in every year protected. This year to keep our paddlers safe, the race will be done in groups of 8!

Need a boat?

Island Spirit Kayak is proud to donate our entire fleet of boats for the race! If you want to participate in this awesome race  and use our equipment you can do so for free! We would appreciate a donation to FOS! All of our Single and double sit-on-top kayaks and all of our paddle boards will be available. If you want to use one for the race, please check the box during registration.

How It Works:

This year every racer will pick a category and race w/ a group of 8 paddlers in their category to compete for a prize! Heats will take place from 8am to 11am on race day. There will be a first and second place from each category announced online after all the races are completed.

The regatta will look a little different this year to keep everyone safe! Paddlers will race in heats at a scheduled time between 8am and 11am. Racing groups are a max of 8 people. All equipment will be sanitized between uses. Unfortunately there will be no beach party or awards ceremony.

The race is $40 a person. Single paddlers pay $40 and doubles pay $80! Remember, proceeds go to keeping our waters clean! This price included an entry into the race and a racing day packet, plus the chance to win some awesome prizes!

Who Can Paddle?

EVERYONE! We are proud to have racers from 5 years old to paddlers in their 90s! We also have a special category for people who paddle with their dogs! This is a family friendly race, and while we have our share of fierce competitors, we have many young families compete!
